Southland Co-op Scholarship Criteria 2026

Four scholarships will be awarded throughout the Southland Co-op Trading Area at the Board’s Discretion

The scholarships will be awarded to graduates continuing with post-secondary education. Special consideration will be given to the fields of pharmacy, retail meat cutting, business management (general management, accounting, human resources, marketing) safety officer, class 1A driver and information technology.

Criteria:
-Demonstrate leadership and community involvement during their tenure at their High School.
-Must be a graduate during the current school year and be pursuing post-secondary studies (Full-time)
-Demonstrate our co-op values of Responsibility, Integrity and Excellence
-Selection is not necessarily based on academic standing (but will be considered)

Supporting Documentation Required:
- Letter of Application outlining the student’s future education plans and career goals, how they demonstrate the criteria and why they feel they should be awarded this scholarship
- A copy of the latest school transcript
- Two letters of reference, one from a high school staff member and one from a community group member
- Your household’s Southland Co-op membership number
- Proof of paid tuition receipt, presented by December 31 of the current year, at which time funds will be paid

Selection will be made by a committee from Southland Co-op in consultation with school staff.
