Community Support

At Southland Co-op, community is at the heart of everything we do. We proudly invest in our community, with a a focus on strengthening and caring for our people and our environments.

If you represent a non-profit, registered charity, youth group, or community association whose values align with our co-operative's values, we invite you to apply for support through our community investment programs.

Please note:

Southland Co-op memberships (individual or business) are required to participate in these programs.
Southland Co-op requires a minimum of two weeks to review your requests.
Due to the high volume of requests, not all worthwhile requests are approved.

Community Support Fund
Southland Co-op provides cash, gift cards or in-kind donations to non-profit groups and organizations to help support programming, complete projects, or improve facilities and/or services that enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve.

Community BBQ Fundraiser
Available from May to August — applications open April 1.

Southland Co-op offers community groups the opportunity to host a BBQ event and raise funds by selling hot dogs and burgers at one of our food stores. Southland Co-op provides the BBQ trailer, propane, ice, utensils and a prime location — everything you need to host a successful fundraiser.

Co-op Store Fundraiser
Available year-round.

Southland Co-op offers community groups the opportunity to use our food store entrances and exits for fundraising purposes, including raffle tickets sales, cookie sales, and collecting donations. Our stores are prime locations for fundraising, and another way we support the community.

Communities in Full Colour
Available year-round.

This program is designed to provide local community organizations with free paint to be used towards local community improvements. The paint donation covers any interior, exterior, primer, stain or specialty coatings required. The program does NOT include applicators, surface preparation or repair products that might be required for a given project.

Fuel Good Day
Applications for Fuel Good Day 2026 are open from April 28 to May 23.

Southland Co-op donates a minimum of five cents from every litre of fuel sold on Fuel Good Day at participating Co-op gas bars to local charities and non-profits in the communities where we operate.

Gift Card Fundraising Program
Southland Co-op offers community groups the opportunity to sell Co-op gift cards to friends, family and the community — while receiving a discount of 10% and keeping the proceeds (up to a maximum of $1,000). The program is a favourite of sports teams and youth groups.
